Essay on Psalm 34

 Venturing into the realm of ancient wisdom, we find ourselves faced with the thirty-fourth Psalm. It is a time-tested testament to divine provision and protection. This Psalm, penned by David during his rather odd escapade in the court of Achish, King of Gath, invites us on an exploration of profound dimensions of faith.

The Psalm opens with a resounding proclamation, "I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips" (Psalm 34:1). In this declaration, David presents us with a remarkable paradox: the commitment to praise in all circumstances. Whether in moments of jubilation or during times of despair, we find an invitation to gratitude. It reminds us that our circumstances, however bleak or bright, carry within them a hidden seam of blessing, awaiting discovery.

Within this ancient Hebrew song, we glimpse a unique form of pedagogy. However, it's crucial to acknowledge that this Psalm doesn't deny the reality of suffering. "The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all" (Psalm 34:19). It mirrors the human condition - a canvas painted with vibrant hues of joy and somber shades of sorrow. Yet, within this tapestry of life, we find not the promise of a trouble-free existence but the assurance of a constant companion, a guiding hand in every storm.

As we conclude, it becomes clear that Psalm 34 is an ancient song of divine assurance resonating into our present. It is a song emerging from the depths of despair yet bursting with hope. How to Beat KataGo at 4 stones - Another example where W starts out with San San

  This example is similar to a previous one in that KataGo starts out by invading the Lower Left (LL) corner, but a different approach is used by B, where moves 2 and 4 are played and then 6, rather than 6 immediately. Here KataGo has invaded in the UL adn LR corners, and played 31. The strategy B is implementing involves 4 items: 1. Kill 2 of W's corners. 2. Make a territory somewhere else besides the 2 killed corners. 3. Don't allow W a huge territory. 4. Keep the B groups safe. The most challenging item is the second one, as KataGo is very good at sniffing out prospective territories and limiting them, especially if there is a weak group to attack, or some problem with the shape.
